Dr. Alexandra Kasten was born in 1974, is married and is the mother of two children. As a lawyer, a solicitor certified as a specialist in family law and a mediator, she acts solely in the area of family law.

After studying law in Bremen and Toulouse (France), she gained a doctorate in mediation in German and French law. Dr. Kasten received the "Le droit juridique" certificate with honours from the Paris Chamber of Industry and Commerce for her French law examinations. After this, she lectured at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel and then spent many years living in London. Due to Dr. Kasten's periods of residence in France and England and the language skills associated with this, the law office also acts on behalf of English and French speaking clients.
As the author of a family law column in the "Kinderpassage" magazine (www.kinderpassage.de), Dr. Kasten regularly publishes articles on the subject of family law and she is also a member of the Bremen separation and divorce network "Trennung und Scheidung".
The German bar association has awarded Dr. Kasten the title "Fachanwältin für Familienrecht" [solicitor certified as a specialist in family law], which is only conferred on those who can provide evidence of a high degree of specialisation and a great deal of experience.

Due to her extensive education and experience in the area of mediation, Dr. Kasten is recognised and certified as a "Mediator BAFM" by the Bundes-Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Familien-Mediation and as a "Mediator BM®" by the Bundesverband für Mediation (both highly-recognised mediation associations in Germany).
Due to her many years of experience and her qualifications, Dr. Kasten is a specialist in out of court agreements and settlements regarding jointly-owned property within the framework of separation and divorce.
